There are three different parameters saved in OURA coffee scale. Let’s take the two-star recipe as an example. You can follow the steps to try how to brew a balanced flavor coffee with OURA. 【Steps】 1. [Press] right button to turn on the coffee scale. 2. [Click] right button to tare the weight, and measure 20g of coffee beans. 3. Grind the coffee beans, and refer to mark #4 of “coffee Grinding Tips” on the bottom of OURA. 4. Rinse the filter with hot water, then add the grounds to the dripper. (It’s not necessary to rinse the filter, but for health reasons, please choose high-quality filter paper.) 5. It’s a highly-precise weighing scale that responds to a weight from 0.1 to 2000 grams. Display shows 0.0：means weight shows in grams. Display shows 0.000：means weight shows in oz. It displays precise time and weight information during the brew process. When detecting the flow of water, it will start timing automatically. The display will show “---” when the weight is negative or exceeds 999 grams. Display shows 0:00 0：means weight shows in grams. Display shows 0:00.0.00：means weight shows in oz. In LIGHT-GUIDING mode, simply follow the lights to perform the coffee brewing process：pour water, pause, continue or adjust the flow of water. You can easily get the same, stable quality coffee each time. In addition to pouring water and stopping, OURA can also help you brew coffee with the stirring technique. *The stirring technique recipe can only be created manually. 【Steps to create parameters manually】 1. Tap “Add recipe” and “Create recipe” in POURX APP. 2. Edit the weight of the coffee bean and water, and add stir item in the stages. 3. Tap “Next”, enter the details in each field, and tap “Save”. 　(Please refer to the “Coffee Grinding Tips” on the bottom of OURA.) 【Steps to brew while app connected】 4. Connect the scale with a smartphone through Bluetooth. 5. Tap “Start to brew”, measure the coffee beans, and place the server, dripper, filter and the coffee ground on the scale. 6. Tap “Next”, start to pour water after OURA lights up white. When OURA shows purple light, it means stirring the slurry. 7. After the brewing is completed, tap “Done” in the top right or pick up the dripper. The app will show the comparison and the similarity of brewing curves, which let you know the difference between yours and the target. You can also synchronize the stirring parameters with OURA coffee scale： drag and drop the new recipe to the star recipe area. After the synchronization is completed, you can follow the lights indicator to brew without POURX APP.

【Steps】 1. Turn on the Bluetooth function of your iPhone. 2. Tap the “Setting button” in the top right of POURX APP. 3. Tap “Bluetooth and device setting”. 4. Switch on “Automatically connect”. 　(It means that the app will search for the scale when turned on.) 5. Tap “OURA” in the pop-up. OURA coffee scale saves three brewing parameters which can be changed through POURX APP: 【Steps】1. Connect the scale with a smartphone through Bluetooth. 2. In LIGHT-GUIDING mode, the asterisks correspond to the star recipe in the APP. Drag a recipe from the list, and drop it to the star recipe area. It should be synchronized within 10 seconds, and OURA will make an audio sound when finished.

【Download steps】 1. Tap “add recipe” in POURX APP. 2. Tap “Scan the QR code” or “Select the QR code”. 3. Scan the QR code of the new recipe, and tap “Download”. 【Steps to brew while app connected】 4. Tap “Start to brew”. 5. Measure the coffee beans, grind them and refer to the “Coffee Grinding Tips” on the bottom of OURA. 6. Place the server, dripper, filter and ground on OURA coffee scale. 7. tap “Next”, start to pour water after OURA lights up from both sides, and follow the lights indicator to adjust your pouring. The app will show the weight, timer, and tips instantly during the brewing process. Such as “more water”, “less water”, or countdown time. 8. After the brewing is completed, tap “Done” in the top right or pick up the dripper. The app will show the comparison and the similarity of brewing curves, which let you know the difference between yours and the target.

You can create new recipes through POURX APP: manual input or real-time record. 【Steps to create parameters manually】 1. Tap “Add recipe” and “Create recipe” in POURX APP. 2. Edit the weight of the coffee bean and water. 3. Tap “Edit” and “Add stage” to enter each parameter of pouring or waiting time. 4. Tap “Done”, then you can browse the brewing curve in “Chart preview”. 5. You can create new recipes through POURX APP: manual input or real-time record. 【Steps to real-time record the parameters】 1. Tap “Add recipe” and “Create recipe” in POURX APP. 2. Edit the weight of the coffee bean and water. 3.Tap “Next”, measure and grind the coffee bean, then place the server, dripper, and the grounds. 4. Tap “Start to brew”, and start to pour after OURA lights up from both sides. The scale will show pulsing white light, which means it’s recording the parameters. 5. Select general or professional in “Tolerance of brewing guide”. Professional: More sensitive brew guiding, which is helpful to make the brewing result close to the original curve. General (default): The default brew guiding makes you brew coffee more relaxed.

【Steps】1. Download the Pourx updater APP 2. Turn on the Bluetooth function of your smartphone. 3. Tap “OURA”. 4. Select the firmware version you want to update. 5. Turn on OURA coffee scale, and tap “CONNECT”. 6. The Bluetooth indicator on the scale will light up when connected. 7. Tap “START”. It takes about 30 seconds to 1 minute to update OURA.
